
Hypothermia
Symptoms:
- Body temperature is under 100.5 degrees
- Depressed or unconscious
- Shivering
- Shallow respiration
- Irregular heart rhythms (cardiac arrhythia)
- Slow heart rate or low blood pressure
Treatment:
- Seek immediate veterinary care
- Get your pet into a warm environment
- Wrap in warm towels or blankets and surround your pet with
warm water bottles. *Wrap the warm water bottles in towels
before placing them near your pet. Remove water bottles when
they lose their warmth.
- Take your pet's temperature regularly. Normal range 100.5-
102.5 degrees.
