Why should I license my dog?
  • Animal Licensing in Boise is required by law
  • When you purchase a license for your dog, your dog will be
    registered with a particular number.  If your dog gets lost, and
    is found by someone or picked up by the animal shelter, they
    can match your dog's licence number with your contact
    information and you can be reunited!
  • If your dog is picked up by animal control the impounding
    fees are higher for unlicensed dogs.
  • The fees you pay help support the cost of our local animal
    control services!

Where do I license my dog?
  • You are able to purchase your dog's first initial  Ada County
    license at Vista Animal Hospital.  However, all yearly renewals
    are to be made through the City Clerk's Office
